The Club Will Open Saturday 10th April 2021
HPBC Club and Green Re-Opening Procedures
In line with the Government guidelines, outdoor sports facilities can reopen with effect from Monday 29th March 2021.
In our case the committee decided and agreed that our green will formerly re-open on Saturday 10th April 2021.
To ensure that the club continues to operate in a safe manner for every member we again must follow the latest Government, Bowls England and KCBA guidelines for Bowls clubs.
The following procedures MUST continue to be adopted by all of our members attending the clubhouse and green:
Social distancing of 2 meters must be maintained at all times.
Everybody must sanitize hands on arrival and departure to the club
3 rinks will be open from 10:30am until 17:30 on each day of the week. No other rink should be played on and you can only play if pre booked. You cannot turn up and play on an ad-hoc basis even if a rink is free.
***** Required for track and trace purposes ********
Rinks cannot be booked on match days after 12:30.
As we will initiate the club internal competitions this season, it is imperative that the green booking sheets in the club corridor and completed for competitions only.
Internal competitions will take precedence over roll-ups.
If demand is high then further capacity may be provided by extending the opening times to provide more booking slots.
Rinks for roll-ups will be bookable exactly as there were last season, with a maximum of 3 slots at a time, on a first come first served basis.
(Club Secretary) will be responsible for taking bookings and will be available every evening each week between 18:30pm and 20:00pm ONLY on 07771 578400 for this purpose - all players names must be recorded not just the person booking.
Each booking slot will last for a maximum of 2 hours to include playing time, sanitizing equipment (see below). This time frame MUST not be exceeded if other members have booked the next time slot of the rink.
A 15-minute gap will be scheduled between each booking slot and players should arrive no more than 15 minutes before their start time.
Spectators will NOT be allowed inside of the metal fence.
Maximum of 6 players will be allowed on any one rink
Two Jacks are to be used on each ring and only one player should handle them. Only one other player should handle the mats. Similarly, one player to use “pushers.
The member booking the rink is responsible for ensuring the mats, jacks and pushers are sanitised thoroughly with the provided anti-bacterial cleaner and disinfectant before and after each game. .
The club’s scoreboards MUST not be used, Individual scorecards are available outside the ladies changing room, in the corridor if required.
No physical contact (handshaking, kissing etc) should occur.
The Clubhouse will be open for toilet facilities ONLY for which different guidelines have been issued.
Changing rooms must not be used
Kitchen facilities are closed, except for the consumption of hot drinks and soft drinks outside of the clubhouse.
Please note that Hesketh Park is deemed a non-alcoholic facility.
All members should be aware that these procedures are not negotiable and must be adhered to. They are designed for the safety of all our members who want to be able to play during this continued difficult time. Not every eventuality can be catered for so please use common sense when necessary. These procedures will be kept under constant review.
ABOVE ALL PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THE CLUB IF YOU ARE FEELING UNWELL!

Matches played Saturday 8th Bexley Park &
Sunday 9th Horton Kirby September 2019
What a good weekend it was!!!
A win at home against Bexley Park giving us 9 points was followed by a superb win away at Horton Kirby, 8 points. At the moment we are sitting in 6th place in the league and a win away at Halls in 2 weeks could see us reach the dizzy heights of 4th place, (here's hoping).
So a massive well done to all who took part, (including super sub Carmen who turned up to cheer us on), and thank you to the ladies for their support in these games.
I attach a photo below of the back drop to the Horton Kirby game which is one of my favourites of the grounds we visit.
More news tomorrow!
